Three boys go on a school trip, their lives are forever ruined.
The Three Wings is my main project that I'm working on. It has been both a way to make something for my younger self, and to practice my writing skills. It is a book series, telling a story spanning 13 books, about the lives of three boys who are forever changed after going on a school trip. Janar, Jacob, and Cain find their existence upended by new magical powers that are spreading throughout the world, and a conflict between beings from beyond the universe.
The first drafts of all 13 books have been written, though none of those drafts are anything close to the final product. Those first drafts were my way to practice my skill, figure out what I wanted to do with the story, and determine what aspects would exist to enable foreshadowing and avoid continuity issues.
My main focus is on re-writing those first drafts, while I work on polishing the first book.
Three boys on an overnight school trip must use newfound powers to escape the clutches of a hooded killer.
It was bright before I even opened my eyes. My body felt heavy, like a dragon was weighing me down, and there was a throbbing pain coming from my ankle. I groaned, trying to grab the blankets, and turn to a more comfortable position.
Only, there were no blankets. Just air. And when I turned, I felt the sting of a ball of spiky seeds digging into my side. My eyes opened, and I saw grass beneath me, some leaves and sticks, and a tree a few strides away. There was a moment of confusion, during which I sat up to take in my surroundings. I was close to the edge of a forest, sheltered by some trees, though not many. There was grass beneath me, and I was surrounded by a myriad of twigs, broken branches, leaves, and some stones. Yet somehow, the area where I’d been laying was just soft grass.
Looking up, I noticed two things. One was that it was bright, though the sun was not yet in the middle of the sky. That either meant it was morning, or afternoon. The other thing is that I could see a path of broken branches in the trees above, as though something heavy had come crashing through.
“Like… me.”
I am currently working on Orphans To Memory. In October 2025, I conducted a beta read, which helped me to edit the book. At some point in the future, I will be conducting another beta read. If that interests you, then kindly fill in the form below so I can contact you for that.
A way for me to tell side-stories set in the universe of The Three Wings.
As part of a way to test how to go about independent publishing, I wrote a short story set in the same world of The Three Wings. You can get it below.
It has been 3 years since The Three Wings first appeared, and the world is still adjusting to the new reality of things. The superhero group itself, though, has settled into a comfortable routine of fighting villains, who keep appearing left right and centre. Just because it's a routine does not mean that it's without danger, or surprises. In this new world of strange powers with unique rules, anything is possible. Isolated and shown their deepest fears, Jacob, Janar, and Cain need to confront their worst nightmares, or risk being consumed by their own terror.
